Active ingredient: dioxotetrahydroxytetrahydronaphthalI ne (oxonaphthylin, oxolin) - 2.5 mg;
excipients: citric acid monohydrate, petroleum jelly.
Ointment from white to light yellow.  During storage, a pink hue is allowed.
Antiviral for nasal use.  It has antiviral activity against influenza virus, blocking the binding sites of the virus to the surface of the cell membrane, and prevents the reproduction of the virus in cells.  Herpes simplex viruses, herpes zoster, adenoviruses, infectious wart and molluscum contagiosum viruses are also sensitive to the effects of dioxotetrahydroxytetrahydronaphthalene.
When applied to the mucous membrane, up to 20% of the drug is absorbed.  The body does not cumulate and is excreted mainly by the kidneys during the day.
Indications for use:
Flu prevention, treatment of viral rhinitis.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Dosage and administration:
For the prevention of influenza - daily 2-3 times a day lubricate the nasal mucosa during the rise and the maximum development of an epidemic outbreak of influenza (over 25 days) or in contact with sick flu.
Treatment of viral rhinitis: the nasal mucosa is lubricated 2-3 times a day for 3-4 days.
Side effect:
Burning of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, rhinorrhea.  In rare cases, blue staining of the mucous membrane is possible.
Overdose:
Cases of overdose of the drug Oxoline nasal ointment are unknown.
No cases of interaction or incompatibility with other drugs have been identified.
