Description

Jörmungandr, the great Midgard serpent, son of Loki, lies coiled in the deepest seas . So massive he is that he stretches all the way around the earth and holds his tail in his mouth. There he waits until Ragnarok, where he will slay and be destroyed by his great foe Thor. This drum has an 18", 8 sided cedar frame, covered by thick cow rawhide. The lacing is wrapped with cord to form a comfortable handle. The face is hand painted with a image of Jörmungandr, twisted, and full of knotwork. The blue around the edge symbolizes the sea. The beater is a gnarled branch, burned with a intertwining serpent. The tip is hand sewn buckskin stuffed with wool. See pics for details and thanks for looking!
