Presented here is a
1920’s Vintage Ingersoll Redipoint Rolled Silver Mechanical Pencil for restoration
.
The watch is in
good pre-owned vintage condition
. It has a small dent next to the clip. This has been highlighted in Pic # 3. The cap is smooth without dents. The Rolled Silver is in great condition with no loss of plating. Light tarnish and could do with a good polish.
The novel feature of this pencil is supposed to be its ability to both push out the lead by turning the cap in one direction and retract by turning in the other direction (see original write-up from 1921 in last pic).
I do not have Thick 1.1mm pencil lead required by this pencil to test it and hence have listed it as “for restoration”
. It appears to have all parts though. Please refer to pics for details.
The pencil is
5 3/8" long
; the diameter of the barrel is just over
5/16"
. The surface pattern is lines and boxes.
The pencil is marked
"REDIPOINT - INGERSOLL - PATENTED - MADE IN U.S.A. - ROLLED SILVER"
.
This is a nice 1920's mechanical pencil in very good condition for its age. It is ready for restoration. It will make a fine addition to your Vintage Pencil collection.
